At
the centre of South-Eastern Europe, exactly on
the way from Europe to the Orient, is positioned
a thirteen centuries old country called Bulgaria.
Its territory is covered with high mountains.
It is surrounded with beautiful valleys, the most
famous of which is the Valley near town Kazanlak.
It is called the Rose Valley - international tourist
centre, that attracts many people here, especially
at the beginning of June, when the famous oil-producing
roses are blossoming. There are many forests here,
a variety of natural springs, vineyards and gardens
full of flowers, fruits and vegetables. Bulgaria
flourishes with different animal species. Their
number is nearly 13, 000 which is around 14% of
all European animal species.
The country is
rich in historical sightseeing - Thracian tombs,
ruins from Roman and Byzantine times, monasteries
and churches from the Middle Ages, places connected
with the Osmanian slavery. The Bulgarian climate
is moderate-continental, mild and suitable for
sea traveling and rehabilitation. It is coldest
here in January when the average temperature
is around 0 degrees Celsius (32 Fahrenheit).
The summer temperature can go above 30 degrees
Celsius (86 Fahrenheit).
The Eastern border
with Black Sea is over 300 km long, and the
seashore is internationally famous for its resorts
Albena, Golden sands, Sozopol, Sunny Beach.
It is worth the remark that the beaches are
oriented Eastwards, and very few European beaches
are positioned in that way. This is an advantage
for every visitor to find romantic atmosphere
and relaxation, beauty and/or attractions and
nightlife. |
